SAVINGS & LOANS

Annual General Meeting
This year's AGM is at 12.30pm on Thursday 23rd February 2012 at Meeting Point House, Southwater Square, Town Centre, Telford. We hope as many members as possible will be able to attend. Remember FAIRshare is your Credit Union so please come along and join us if you can.

New account for AFC Telford United fans!
FAIRshare has teamed up with AFC Telford United to offer their supporters a secure home for their savings with access to affordable loans that can help spread the cost of being a fan. Our new AFC Telford United Supporter's Account gives fans the opportunity to save up for everything from their away game tickets and travelling expenses to the latest replica kit.
Supporters who save regularly and are looking to spread the cost of their season ticket - or take advantage of buying multiple tickets at discounted prices - will be able to apply for a low cost loan from only 1% (12.68% APR) per month.
In addition to savings and loans AFC Telford United Supporter's Account holders will also be able to take advantage of special members' only offers and exclusive Club discounts.

Initially the account will only be available to those living or working in the Telford and Wrekin area but an expected change in credit union legislation early next year may open it up to supporters living further afield.
Fans wanting to open an account just need to complete a simple form and provide proof of their identity. Application forms are available from the AFC Telford United ground or FAIRshare's Southwater Square offices in Telford Town Centre.
Or you can click here to find out more and download an application form from the Members' Area.
Paul Riley, AFC Telford United Commercial Sales Manager, said "Our fans are very important to us so anything we can do to help make supporting the Club even more affordable is high on the agenda. We're also always keen to strengthen the Club's links with other organisations who share our belief in working for the benefit of the local community. So the opportunity to introduce the Supporter's Account ticked all the boxes."
FAIRshare's newly appointed General Manager, John Harrower, added "We're delighted to launch the AFC Telford United Supporter's Account and looking forward to a long and successful association with the Club and its fans. Any money saved in the Credit Union is totally safe, secure and protected and because we are a co-operative organisation all our members are shareholders in the company. Plus all the money our members save with us stays in the community to help other local people too."

Members' Survey
We’re asking members to complete a short questionnaire to help us assess our service and ensure that we continue to develop the products you need to make the most of your money. To say ‘thank you’ your name will automatically be entered into a FREE Prize Draw to win £100. The closing date for entries is 30th September 2010.
Any information you give us will be treated in the strictest confidence - so please feel free to make whatever comments you wish. If you’d prefer to complete your answers anonymously that’s fine but we obviously won’t be able to enter your name in the draw.
The survey has now closed. We had a fantastic response so we'd like to say a very big 'thank you' to everyone who took part.

Helping children save for a brighter future
It’s never too early to start saving and it’s important to help young people understand the importance of managing their money as soon as they can. So we've arranged with Windmill School in Brookside to introduce our Young Savers' Account at the school.
Children of all ages can open an account (with their parents’/guardian’s permission) and pay money in each week. A savings card is provided to record each transaction so the children can ‘watch their money grow’.
