FAIRshare works in partnership with schools in Shropshire to help young people get into the ‘savings habit’ and learn money management skills.

Weston Rhyn Primary School launched their School Saver Club on 21st March 2017 in partnership with FAIRshare & supported by the Three Parishes Big Local.

The School Saver Club is open to all children attending Weston Rhyn Primary School.  Membership is free, and children can deposit as little or as much as they wish.  Collections are held weekly before school from 8.30am on a Tuesday morning in the school hall.

The Club is run by pupils from Jupiter & Saturn classes, under the supervision of Mrs Gilbert and other school staff.   Children ‘applied’ for positions, and after appointments were announced, were awarded certificates & name badges.  The children have worked hard to get the service up & running, with FAIRshare providing training & ongoing support.

There was a competition to design the Deposit Envelopes – congratulations to Anie Slawson for the fantastic winning design.

Watch our Savings rise

David & Charlie had the idea of a giant Saver Cake which is on display in the school hall.  Each time a member makes a deposit at the School Saver Club they add a coloured ‘sprinkle’ to the saver cake.  After saving 5 times, they will add a ‘cherry‘ & after 10 times a ‘candle‘ to the Saver Cake!

The School Saver Club Officers run the School Saver Club in a professional, efficient & friendly manner & are a credit to their school & the wider community.  It has been a pleasure working with them.
