FAIRshare works in partnership with schools in Shropshire to help young people get into the ‘savings habit’ and learn money management skills.
St Martins School launched their School Saver Club on 29th January 2018 in partnership with FAIRshare & supported by the Three Parishes Big Local.
The School Saver Club is open to all primary and nursery aged children attending St Martins School. Membership is free, and children can deposit as little or as much as they wish. Collections are held weekly before school from 8.30am on a Monday morning in the Studio.
The Club is run by pupils from years 5 & 6, under the supervision of Mrs Hughes and volunteer Coordinator, Emma Allum. Lots of children ‘applied’ for positions, and so we have 3 Officer teams – the Golden Coins, the Fluffy Unicorns and the Cotton Cupcakes – see our Officer Rota by clicking here. Each team has a Manager, an Assistant Manager, Cashiers, I.T., Stationery & Member Services Officers. The Club also has 2 Marketing Officers responsible for promotion the Club. The children have worked hard to get the service up & running, with FAIRshare providing training & ongoing support.
Congratulations to Cassie Taylor for the fantastic St Martins School Saver Club Deposit Envelope design.
The children had the idea of a creating a Savings Universe which is on display in the school hall. Each time a member makes a deposit at the School Saver Club they add a star to the Universe. After saving 5 times, they will add a ‘shooting star‘, after 10 times a ‘planet‘, after 15 times a ‘rocket’ and after 20 times a ‘Unicorn’! By the end of the school year, our Savings Universe will be out of this world!
The School Saver Club Officers run the School Saver Club in a professional, efficient & friendly manner & are a credit to their school & the wider community. It has been a pleasure working with them.
The School Saver Club is open to all primary and nursery ages children attending St Martins School. To join please complete an application form and return it to St Martins School – application forms are available from school or can be downloaded from the link below. There is no cost to join and pupils can join the School Saver Club at any time.
