Matthew’s Graduation
Posted on Apr 05, 2018Over the last 12 months we’ve been following FAIRshare’s Finance Assistant, Matthew Butler, who was one of only 15 young people in the UK to be accepted onto the CU Futures programme. It was Matthew’s Graduation Ceremony at the ABCUL Annual Conference & AGM last month, and we’re proud to share with you a selection of photos from the evening.
CU Futures is the innovative programme run in partnership by ABCUL and the Credit Union Foundation and sponsored by Citi Foundation to support and develop young people across the British credit union movement.
Matthew’s Graduation is the end of a year of learning, opportunities, and unique experiences for all those on the CU Futures programme. Matthew has visited colleagues from different credit unions across the country, participated in the Pacific Institute’s High Performance Culture programme and received media and communications training with broadcaster and journalist Liz Barclay.
Other highlights include participated in sessions within Citibank’s Canary Wharf offices and a visit to Westminster as part of the International Credit Union Day celebrations.
Over the last few months Matthew’s been busy completing a collaborative group project on Crowd Funding & A Skills Directory which was presented at the Manchester conference, and he’s also raised £500 through various fundraising activities for the sustainability of the programme for next year’s CU Futures.
Matthew’s also been studying hard too, completing a bespoke learning pathway in the ABCUL Academy, and studying for the London Institute of Banking and Finance’s Certificate in Credit Union Professional Conduct – good luck in your exams!
